Sailor Take Warning Author: Frances LaGatta
(Added on Nov 26, 2002) (This month 50035 readers) (Total 59261 readers)
Dom cruise line captain shows his feisty, very naughty femme fatale girlfriend/ employee exactly 'who' mans the helm aboard his ship. A very stern, sexual lesson in submission she won't soon forget!

a very different ttype story to read, the langueage was a bit different from what i have read in the past, but the story itself was worth the time to read (8/10)

Oh this is just great. I agree whole-heartedly with boccaccio on the grammar. Even if I'm not so enamoured of the story line, the writing is SUPERB, and there are so many nice little metaphors and the spelling is very well done, and it was a pleasure to read. Also, the emotions, as well as actions are very nicely put into words. (9/10)

This author has a fine knack for a clever turn of phrase:
"postponing his rather robust sexual
appetites with inventive lies that would have made a tax attorney applaud"
but errs, I think, in trying to make her characters' dialogue as clever as she clearly is. Quite a bit of the dialogue sounds forced and un-natural to this reader. For example:
"Yet you have no compunctions about doing the
horizontal hip-hop with me and then locking your legs together with out-and-out
lies, do you?"
Oscar Wilde could get away with artifical dialect; the rest of us mortals should try to avoid it.
In that respect this story falls a bit short of her recent story about the Quaker woman and the Indian brave, which I thought was very well done indeed. More natural and more erotic than this one.

Thank you kindly, sir, for your stellar reviews on both 'Red Revenge' and 'Sailor Take Warning'. I loved the Attagal bit! (Only a *very observant person would ever catch such a thing, and you were the first!)
Also, Oscar Wilde is one of my favorite authors. To have 'my' name mentioned along with his--no matter that he can pull it off better than I--well, it truly warms my heart in any context. Have you read his quote on the virtues of vices? You obviously have a great sense of humor. And laughter my friend is the best medicine.
Thanks agian for your time and effort,
Frances
