The Culling Lottery Author: C. A. Smith
(Added on Apr 15, 2004) (This month 112025 readers) (Total 147802 readers)
Takes place in the future, a few decades after "The Abattoir," when the cruelties of privatized executions have not only become public, but have spawned a hugely competitive industry of grisly "reality TV." Beautiful young women sign up for a lottery in which they will end up either fabulously rich or brutally tortured, executed and eaten.

A well written tale. Believable plot. I get the impression it isn't complete since last chapter doesn't apply. It is clearly from a different story and spoils an otherwise excellent story. (9/10)

I enjoyed the story. All the chapters had good flow, good suspense, good erotic detail. The last chapter didnt pertain to the rest of the story. At least as far as I could tell. Had the last chapter followed the rest of the story. I could have given the story a higher rating. (7/10)

I Agree. There is still more to to tell in the story.

How we love the Free Enterprise System so! And this work makes me even want to watch the movie, 'The Cook, The Thief, The Wife and His Lover', once again. Bu that was not a movie known for sexually arousing the viewer, and likewise, this work is not very erotic.
It is a 10 based on story and writing, but a 6 as porn, so I give it an 8. Cannibalism really is not that erotic to most people. And snuff is pretty boring, too. All of this leads to vegetarianism, not arousal. Then, really an 8 is actually a generous rating for such a sick author.
My compliments to you for such a good work, though. Politically it was an outstanding commentary on our perverse system of values. (8/10)

Outstanding.
Makes fun of TV reality shows, and achieves the momentary suspension of disbelief that good fiction requires (10/10)

This one is as good as "The Abattoir", with fully realized characters. This ain't a spoof but a savage satire of reality TV, and not for the fainthearted! Excellent. (10/10)
