A spoiled sixteen year old girl marries a cotton planter twice her age. He owns an enormous plantation, Five Oaks. Unable to have his children, he rejects her. She gives herself to another planter on the eve of the Civil War and becomes pregnant. She survives the Civil War by sleeping with two slave brothers and a Yankee general. Her husband returns after the war is over to find her the true Mistress of Five Oaks. |

Pretty good story. I liked her gumption. A real Scarlet O'Hara, but not a bitch. Good luck. (9/10)

A highly competent writing style, compressing the twists and turns of a sweeping civil war tale into the constraints of the competition's word limit. Most enjoyable. (10/10)

It's a pity the the format wasn't longer, this story needed more length. (5/10)

Tried too much for such a short format. I agree with one of the other rewviewers, expand it and you have a winner but there is a little too much missing. (6/10)

Great descriptions...would've liked the length expanded. (9/10)

Tries to cover too much ground for this length of a story. I never felt in touch with the character enough to care what happened to them. The plot seems to be nothing more than a vehicle to provide the wife with as many children as possible before her husband returns. The descriptions and settings were decent for the amount of text given them. Might work for me at 60,000 words instead of 6000. (6/10)

Very well written historical fiction erotica. Gone with the Wind in miniature with sensuality. As pornography it was not as hot as other stories I have read, but again, the writing was first rate. (10/10)
