Very good story. Well developed two characters and not the excesses you often get in stories on this site. Both in terms of the level of physical and sexual activity and in having realistic characters not becoming caracitures. Also a good study in hubris, with arogance and complacency getting a come-upance. Also the final end section makes for a good surprise ending. I wasn't expecting this and like Snark might have preferred a different ending but possibly appropriate. I'm not sure that Keri's last move is that wise for her however as how to explain it without sinking her own career?

This could easily be a published story. No surprise that this is leading the month of December in readership. The beginning sets up a very believable blackmail scenario. The attitude of Eli is actually familiar to me and I heard a real-life story of the same whine again recently. Minus the sex and blackmail, of course, and it was government, not corporate. To me, this is a well done "revenge of the nerd" story.
I really liked the end too. It surprised me in a good way, quite unexpected.
Almost went with 9/10 because of the short length, but the quality of writing changed my mind. (10/10)

Quite enjoyable. Nicely written, cleanly edited. Having been screwed over by middle managers I hoped for a different ending. He may have learned something - never trust middle managers - but I doubt that she did. (9/10)

i was originally going to rate this story as a seven. But then i got to the end and there was no doubt in my mind that a ten was needed. This story is in the very top league, and not just in the sexual stories genre but all short stories. This would make a great tv play.
To anyone who reads this review before reading the story one piece of advice keep reading to the end it is well worth it. (10/10)

Can't get more clever than Ashley Zacharias in setting up a blackmail situation.
In fact, the blackmail intro to "The Middle Manager" should be sitting on top of every BDSMLibray page, in floor-high, screamy-colored Neon letters for the benefit of anybody who has the inkling to write a blackmail story.
Add to that the intricately woven characters, moving around in an accurately set business environment --with some excellent knowledge about computers and networks-- and you've got yet again an excellent story.
A treat this is.
